Many Americans like you are being contacted by collection agencies who are trying to get payments on defaulted accounts they have acquired or been assigned. Even though you may owe a debt, you still have rights.

You should dispute the debt in writing if you feel as if the dollar amount the collection agency is requesting is inaccurate, if you feel the debt is not owed or if you feel the debt is fraudulent. You can send a letter to the collection agency within thirty days of first being notified of the collection. You should send this letter via certified mail so that you can prove that they received it. In response to your dispute, the collection agency must cease collection activity until they send you some sort of validation of the alleged debt. They can resume their collection efforts again once they produce proof of your debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”) regulates what debt collection agencies may and may not do. There are many things collection agencies cannot do or say when contacting you. Collection agencies may not:

  • use abusive or obscene language;
  • call before 8am or after 9pm;
  • call you repeatedly;
  • call you at work, if they know that your employer does not permit personal calls;
  • contact any third party and state that you owe a debt;
  • threaten to have you arrested or imprisoned.

    If any of these things occur, your best option is to consult with a consumer protection attorney.

      I have a voicemail from one of their collectors implying that that they will be filing suit against me and have been advised by their in house attorney to call me to resolve before they make a decision. They do not file suit against anyone and this is a violation of the FDCPA and I want them to pay for it. They have been rude and threatening in other conversations with me as well. I am in the debt collection business and they give us all a bad name.

      Admin Recovery calls from 7165803763 with nothing but empty threats. I have had three people from Admin Recovery tell me that I was being served a summons and complaint. Admin Recovery even tells me they are calling from my county court. Admin Recovery is not a law firm. They are just a collection agency. Admin Recovery has 37 complaints with the Better Business Bureau. It’s no wonder.

      They are a scam! They said I owed $1,800 when I have no debt owed at all. Do not listen to their calls or letters – that are often sent to people who do not understand English, trying to threaten them.

      Admin Recovery has been harassing my family Admin Recovery has been leaving messages on my family’s cell phone and home phone numbers stating that I been writing bad checks and they are going to take me to jail and for me to be ready with two types of identification because they are getting ready to serve me some court documents.

      Asked Admin Recovery LLC for confirmation of payment. Admin Recovery LLC sent an email with someone else’s name on it. The letter from Admin Recovery LLC says I paid $344 when they took $600.00 out of my bank account.
