Each year, thousands of consumers are turned down for credit cards, mortgages, student loans, other important loans and employment and housing opportunities, due to inaccurate information in their credit reports. You DO have the right to view your credit report, know what information is contained therein, and you can dispute that information if it is wrong or outdated and have it removed from your report.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) is a federal statute, enacted in 1970 to protect the rights of consumers, and regulate the practices of those who provide information to the credit reporting agencies, the agencies themselves and credit report users. The FCRA states that a consumer can make a legal claim against, and sue the credit reporting agencies, creditors and debt collectors who report information that is wrong. If your credit report is wrong through no fault of your own, we can help. We offer a free case review and can assist you in either ensuring the report is corrected in a timely manner or by pursuing a claim against those who fail to comply with the FCRA.
You can order a free report from the 3 credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Experian or Trans Union by simply going to www.annualcreditreport.com . These 3 agencies supply most of the information about you, your present and past payment history and outstanding debts to the banks, credit card companies, mortgage and other lenders that you have applied to for credit. Once you receive your report, if you have any trouble reading or understanding the information, give us a call. We can assist you with a simple dispute letter If you think any of the information is incorrect or inaccurate.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act offers specific consumer protections if you have been victimized by the crime of identity theft. Our credit report lawyers will do whatever can be done to ensure your credit and good name are not destroyed by the credit reporting agencies and your creditors, should this happen to you.
If what a collector or lawyer is saying to you just doesn’t make sense it probably should not have been said. Even if you owe the debt or some portion of the debt but have fallen behind, that does not give anyone the right to threaten and embarrass you, and you have the right to fight back against telephone harassment, and stop collection calls, collection agency harassment calls, debt collection calls to your work or to family members, and other debt collector calls that may be in violation of FDCPA Laws.
If you believe a debt collector has violated the law in an effort to contact you, whether by mail or phone, the FCRA Lawyers and FDCPA attorneys here at Vullings Law Group, LLC has an experienced team of consumer rights lawyers and collection harassment lawyers who are willing to help you fight back against abuse and possibly win a claim against them.
We do not charge the consumer any fees, The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act dictates that the collection agency must pay your reasonable attorney fees if you win your claim! We even advance your court costs! If your claim is not successful you still do not have to pay us! What does that mean? It means enough is enough! You can fight back when collectors go over the line! No fees to you – the collection agency will have to pay if you win your suit and they have to your attorney fees.
If you are successful in an FDCPA claim, you sue debt collector violators and possibly get up to $1,000.00 for the violation plus any actual damages you may have suffered. The best part is the collector will have to pay your attorney fees. If a debt collector has left a voice mail for you or discussed your matter with co-workers or other family members they may have violated the FDCPA rules on debt collection harassment and debt collectors rights.
We are happy to review your situation and let you know if you have a case. There is no cost to you.
